ICE-CREAM
In our class we read a book about ice-cream.We are going to share 5 facts about what we have learnt about ice-cream.
1.did you know that one of the ingredients in ice-cream is seaweed.without seaweed ice-cream becomes very slushy. It is the seaweed that holds all of the ingredients toghether.
2.One of the most peculiar food colour is pink or red because this dye is made from the crushed bodies of a small red insect called the cochineal beetle.
3. It is illegal to sell ice-cream that has begun to melt, micro-organisms will start to grow on the ice-cream
4.The italians introduced sorbet to the rest of europe.In 1533 an italian served sorbet to the king of france.Sorbet is now famous all over the world.
5. Ice-cream can be made at home.It is not easy and it can take a long time. Most ice-cream is made in a factory. Machines mix the ingredients and freeze them.The ice-cream must be kept very cold to stop it from melting.

Malawi
This year I went to Malawi in Africa and met lots of new people. It was a great experience. Each class in our school has a jar to collect money for the Nusery school. 5 cents will buy a bowl of porridge for every nursery school pupil.(Bethany)
